Deep gratitude to everyone who supported Aikido of Santa Cruz Online classes and events during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown.  Our dojo has resumed in-person Aikido classes and as part of our curriculum ASC will continue to offer Misogi Classes online twice a week.  In addition, ASC will continue to offer periodic online events to strengthen connections in the Aikido World Family. MISOGI ONLINE CLASSES: Study, Practice, & Community

Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00-8:45 am (PDT / PST: California Time).

We welcome all interested students from around the world to join these short, energizing Misogi Classes, centering on the traditional Aikido purification practice of Shin Kokyu (a combined practice of meditation, movement, visualization, and breathing). The Misogi classes include a wide range of information and various methods of spiritual practice relevant to Aikido and the teachings of its founder, Morihei Ueshiba O-Sensei.  There is also time for conversation and sharing between members of the class, forming a supportive community of practitioners across the world. As O-Sensei said, “The purpose of Aikido is to build a heaven on earth by bringing people together in friendship and harmony.”

Class Fees and Donations: The online Misogi Classes are open to all.

1. For regular Monthly Members of Aikido of Santa Cruz: the online Misogi Classes are included in your monthly membership fees.

2. For All Others: to attend Misogi Classes on a regular basis, please make regular monthly donations (of any size) to Aikido of Santa Cruz, a nonprofit organization. To donate online, use the “DONATE” button below.
