$75 for 4 weeks (12 days) of Beginners Classes

Or: $150 for the Deluxe Intro Package: in addition to 4 weeks of Beginners Classes, you will recieve a free training uniform, a copy of the acclaimed book Journey to the Heart of Aikido, by ASC chief instructor Linda Holiday, plus 4 weeks additional unlimited training after the Beginners Classes, with students of all levels!

December 9 Special Training and Godan Demonstration

Join us for a special training day and Godan (5th degree black belt) demonstration, including a class with guest instructor Mary Heiney Sensei, 7th dan, Seattle.

10:30am - Class taught by Linda Holiday Sensei, 6th dan, chief instructor of Aikido of Santa Cruz
11:30am - Godan demonstration by Aimen Al Refai
Noon - Class taught by Mary Heiny Sensei, 7th dan, Seattle
1:00pm - Concluding circle, with presentations
4 - 7pm - Dojo party!  Potluck at Aimen's house (next to the dojo)

Training fee: Suggested donation $10-20. (No one turned away for lack of funds.)
Classes are for Teens and Adult Aikidoists. Beginning students, please check with your instructor.

December 15 "All Ages Aikido" Special Class & Dojo Holiday Potluck Lunch

Join us for our annual class for everyone in the dojo community, especially including young Aikidoists and their families.

Class will be followed by Misogi Appreciation for everyone who helped maintain the dojo in 2018 and a Holiday Potluck Lunch for all.

Class: 10:30am - 12:00 noon
Potluck: 12:30pm - Please bring food to share.

December 19 & 20 Final Youth/Teen Aikido classes of 2018

Youth/Teen classes will resume on January 7th & 8th.

Adult ASC Classes will continue during the winter holidays, with 4 exceptions noted below.* Teenagers are encouraged to come and train in these classes as well.
*December 24 Christmas Eve

12:00 noon class will be held, but no evening classes

*December 25 Christmas Day

No classes.

*December 31 "Etsu Nen Geiko" - New Year's Eve Class

The final Aikido practice of 2018. Join with the dojo community for any/all of this year-end tradition:

5:30 - 7:00pm: Dojo Misogi - clean and put the dojo in order for the New Year.
7:00 - 8:30pm: Last 2018 Aikido class (taught by chief instructor Linda Holiday)
8:30 - 9:30pm: Hot Cider (provided) & a snack potluck for all Adults & Teens.

*January 1 New Year's Misogi Purification Practice on the Beach!

Join us in this ancient Japanese tradition, which we have been doing here in Santa Cruz, rain or shine, for over 40 years! Train in a class on the beach, then do the “Shin Kokyu” misogi practice in the edge of the surf – an exhilarating experience. Wear your gi (no hakama, shoes optional), bring a towel, a bokken if you have one, and positive energy to greet the New Year! Potluck brunch at Aimen and Wendy’s house (next to the dojo) afterward, starting about 12:30 – everyone invited!

No regular classes at the dojo on New Year's Day.

Kangeiko Winter Intensive!

An annual tradition, this is a one-week special practice for the whole dojo, and we welcome visitors from other dojos as well. Train as much as possible for 7 days! In addition to our regular daily schedule of classes, we offer special early morning classes 6:30-7:30 am each day (for Adults & Teens). There is a Kids’ Kangeiko as well, with classes available for kids every day. Closing ceremony and potluck celebration on the last day (Saturday, 12:00). Febrary 23 - 24 California Aikido Association Bi-Annual Friendship Training Weekend

ASC is a member dojo of the CAA, Division Two (headed by Michael Friedl Sensei, 7th dan). All ASC students are invited to participate in the training on Saturday at Aikido West, and/or Sunday at Aikido of San Jose.

March 9 Annual Women's Aikido Seminar

This all-day seminar draws together women Aikidoists from many dojos to enjoy and strengthen their practice together.
Co-taught by Linda Holiday (6th dan, ASC) and Penny Sablove (5th dan, Heart of San Francisco Aikido)
Guest instructor TBD.
